All times are Eastern and Pacific, with a few exceptions, such as Monday Night Football. This was the first season since 1971 in which a four-hour Sunday night schedule was implemented.

The highest-rated show for the year is colored in lime. The top ten highest-rated shows are colored in yellow. The top 20 highest-rated shows are colored in cyan. The top 30 most-watched programs are colored in magenta.
Note: On ABC, the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man (#2, 28.0 rating) took the 10:00 time slot after the end of the 1975 NFL season from February 2 through March 12. It premiered its first two installments on February 1, 1976.
